July 19th Dinner Meeting: Christopher A. Kerosky
Our monthly dinner meetings give Democrats and Progressive individuals a place to talk politics. You don't need to be a policy expert just come and learn from peers, trade jokes, and hang out in an environment where it's not taboo to talk politics. We typically have a speaker each month and our programs are always FREE. There is an optional full dinner available for the nominal fee of $15 ($20 for non-members). The dinner is always cooked on site and includes appetizers, beverage, side dish, and dessert.
5:45 pm—Mix & mingle, no-host bar
6:30 pm—Club Business Meeting
7:30pm—Program -- Always Free to Everyone!
Christopher A. Kerosky is a senior partner in Kerosky Purves & Bogue and has practiced law since 1984 handling over 1000 immigration cases and over 500 civil and litigation matters. He is a graduate of the University of California Berkeley (Boalt Hall) Law School and was the former counsel of U.S. Department of Justice in Washington DC. Since 2004 he has served as Honorary Consul for Poland and a member of the Consular Corps in San Francisco. For the last 8 years, “SuperLawyers” magazine named him one of the top lawyers in Northern California and one of the top corporate counsel for immigration matters. He also serves as a Member of the Human Rights Commission for Sonoma County, appointed by the County Board of Supervisors. Christopher speaks English, Spanish and Polish fluently and conversational Russian and French.
One of his recent projects has been working with youth who fall under DACA to produce films about the impact of having been brought to the US as children. While they were safe from deportation, able to go to school and to work under President Obama, the Trump administration places these children at risk of being deported. Mr. Kerosky will update us on what is being done to protect these young people .
Please RSVP no later than Tuesday, 7/18, 10:00 AM Note: We always offer a Vegetarian option; please be sure to designate when you send your RSVP
